How do I make a booking for a holiday house or holiday flat?
Once you have found a holiday home for your next trip, make a request to the club member and resolve any remaining questions and conditions directly. When the host has accepted your request and saved your travel data to his Global Homing calendar, you will receive an e-mail containing the booking data, which you then need to confirm. The respective travel points are then transferred from your travel points account to your host's travel points account automatically. The number of travel points transferred per night is based on the property category of the holiday home, which is indicated in each property description in the title by the “figure in the circle”. The level of the property category corresponds to the number of travel points that have to be used per night: For a holiday home with property category 1, one travel point per night has to be used; for a holiday home with property category 2, two travel points per night have to be used; and so on.For example: For ten overnight stays in a holiday home, with property category 3, 30 travel points are transferred.
You can book your holiday even if you have not yet collected any or enough travel points, because we put a personal travel points overdraft at your disposal, which is determined on the basis of your own property category multiplied by 60 and is specified in your travel points account.
START BONUS: When you book your first holiday home, we pay 50 % of the travel points; that means that, after confirmed booking, we will credit your travel points account with half of the used travel points.
How do I make a booking for a hotel/guesthouse?
Since hotels/guest houses often offer a wide range of rooms, flats or chalets, owners of hotels/guesthouses have the option of offering several property categories. If you want to request a hotel/guesthouse, please specify the number of people you are travelling with (adults and children), which period and specific type of accommodation you are interested in. The most convenient way for you is to use the host’s contact form. The host has to agree with you on the property category valid for the time and type of accommodation in question. Once you agree, the host will enter the reservation details in his Global Homing calendar. Upon entering the details into the calendar, you will receive an e-mail containing the reservation details, which you have to confirm after checking. The travel points will then be charged to the respective travel points accounts. How do I collect travel points?
a) You agree to a booking request: If you get an enquiry from a club member and agree with the booking request, you get travel points in the amount of your own property category for each night. If, for example, your holiday home has property category 3, three travel points per night are transferred from the travel points account of your guest to your travel points account. Upon your entering the details into your Global Homing calendar, you and your guest will receive an e-mail containing the reservation details, which your guest has to confirm. After your guest has confirmed the booking, the travel points will be transferred to your travel points account automatically.b) You recommend Global Homing: As a holiday home owner, you often know other holiday home owners: in your circle of friends and acquaintances, among colleagues or at your own holiday destination. Recommend Global Homing and we reward you with ten travel points as a thank-you for each new club member. Just use the e-mail invitation “Member recruits member” or our Global Homing recommendation cards, or simply send us an e-mail (see “How do I recruit members”).
How do I answer a booking request as the owner of a hotel/ guest house?
Generally, you will receive an enquiry via the Global Homing contact form containing the specific type of accommodation and period the club member is interested in and the number of people the member is travelling with. Please inform the would-be guests about the availability of the type of accommodation and name the property category valid for this period (if you have entered several property categories), because you as a host have the option of offering several different property categories for different types of accommodations and seasons. Should the guest accept your offer, you can enter the reservation into your Global Homing calendar: arrival and departure date, membership no. of the guest and the property category agreed upon. The guest will then receive an automatic e-mail with the reservation details, which he has to confirm, after which the travel points will be charged to the respective travel points accounts. What is the Global Homing calendar for?
The Global Homing calendar has two functions:First, to display availability in your holiday home (optional)
Second, for entering the bookings for the club members.
First item: Any booking with Global Homing is always done upon request. This is why the calendar is pre-set to the status “please enquire” from the start. If required, select the times in which you would not like to receive any booking enquiries (see “Add availabilities”). If you do not currently want to get any requests, you can deactivate your property with the calendar function, but only if you have a positive travel point balance. With an inactive calendar, you signal to the other club members that your holiday home is currently not available.
Second item: If you have agreed to a booking request and clarified all other details with your guest, you must enter the reservation in your Global Homing calendar; so that the travel points are transferred from the travel points account of your guest to your travel points account automatically (see “enter a booking”).
